| | All children deserve to live in a safe environment, but one out of three pediatric deaths is due to an injury. Child care providers will learn to avoid harmful situations, and focus on prevention. Topics discussed will be child abuse, air bag safety, burns, choking, dental, drowning, falls, gun safety, heat exhaustion and heat stroke, poisons, shaken baby syndrome, SIDS, and transportation concerns. Parents are encouraged to attend. Childcare staff who attend this training are provided with an opportunity to participate in up to four additional intermediate level training hours with a Child Care Nurse Consultant. Childcare staff can receive on-site assistance with implementation, policy and/or additional topic-related assistance as requested. | |
